Every final exam counts for a percentage of your overall grade — sometimes 10%, sometimes 40% or more. This final exam calculator works backward from the grade you want: enter your current grade, how much the final is worth, and your target grade, and it solves for the exact score you'd need to walk in and hit that number.
The math behind it: Required Score = (Desired Grade − (Current Grade × (1 − Final Weight))) ÷ Final Weight. For example, if you're at 85% going into a final worth 20% of your grade, and you want to finish with a 90%, you'd need a 110% on the final — which tells you instantly that a 90% final grade isn't mathematically possible from here, so you can reset expectations before exam day instead of after.
